Severe thunderstorms caused wind damage in a number of towns in the eastern third of Berks County. Damage was reported in Mount Penn, Pennside, Exeter, Kutztown, Topton and Boyertown. Uprooted trees forced road closures in Topton. About 6,500 Metropolitan Edison customers lost power throughout the county. No injuries were reported.
