A slow moving cold front and a separate low pressure system that moved off the Middle Atlantic Coast combined to produce heavy rain. Storm totals averaged closed to two inches in Chester and Montgomery Counties. The heavy rain (The heaviest of which fell between 6 and 10 p.m.on the 1st.) combined with the lack of vegetation and saturated grounds from a snowy and wet winter caused flooding of numerous smaller streams throughout the two county area. The Perkiomen Creek in Graterford reached its flood stage of 11 feet at about 2 a.m. on the 2nd, crested at 11.7 feet at 430 a.m. and was back within bankfull by 7 a.m. No serious damage or injuries were reported. Storm totals included 3.00 inches in Collegeville, 2.05 inches in Valley Forge, 2.00 inches in Phoenixville, 1.95 inches in Green Lane, 1.54 inches in Glenmoore and 1.51 inches in Crum Creek.
