Rain bands in advance of Hurricane FRAN dropped 2 to 4 inches of rain across the county. The decaying eyewall of the storm moved through the middle of the county, providing another 4 inches of rain in one hour or so. These copious tropical rains produced widespread, major flooding in the county overnight.
