A line of severe thunderstorms that produced scattered wind damage in Tioga county intensified as it crossed into Broome county and caused more widespread damage. The storms inflicted structural damage to a local department store in Vestal. Numerous large trees and many power lines were downed in Johnson City, Chenango Forks, and near Windsor. A spotter recorded a wind gust of 65 mph in Castle Creek.
