Severe thunderstorms developed along a cold front which crossed eastern New York and adjacent western New England during the afternoon of May 21. These storms produced damage across parts of Ulster and Dutchess Counties. Damage was most widespread over southern and central Dutchess County. Approximately 7,000 customers were without power in southern Dutchess County.
