Thunderstorms moved across northern New York with frequent cloud to ground lightning...very heavy rain and gusty winds between 6 PM EST and midnight Saturday night (5/18/96).In Bangor, NY (Franklin County) winds gusted to 40 mph or so at 7 PM EST Saturday. Lightning strikes resulted in several fires Saturday night.
