Severe thunderstorms developed along a cold front during the afternoon of May 11. These storms produced damage across Ulster, Dutchess and Columbia Counties. At Wappingers Falls in Dutchess County, a roof was blown off a six unit appartment building and landed in the parking lot. The debris from the roof damaged 15 cars. At Accord in Ulster County, numerous trees and wires were downed by the wind and a tree fell on a mobile home. Numerous trees and wires were also downed by the wind at Hyde Park and Millbrook in Dutchess County. The storms left 3,000 customers without power in Ulster County and 1,500 customers without power in Dutchess and Columbia Counties.
