A stationary front which extended across eastern New York on June 9, produced isolated severe thunderstorms and flooding. At Pittstown in Rensselaer County, a severe thunderstorm downed several trees. In northern Rensselaer County training showers and thunderstorms resulted in flash flooding when approximately 6 inches of rain fell during the late afternoon. Dirt roads were washed out in Pittstown, Raymertown and Boyntonville. Homes were evacuated and flooded in Pittstown and Boyntonville. Around 20 families were evacuated at Pittstown in the County Acres Trailer Park. County routes 103, 105, 109 and 129 were washed out in sections. A farm off Spicer Hill Road (county route 105) lost 400 acres of corn and wheat along with 100 tons of corn which was flooded in the silo.
