Freezing rain and drizzle left a light ice glaze which resulted in hazardous driving and walking conditions. One person was killed when a car overturned due to the slippery conditions along the 8300 block of Blue Parkway. The Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Kansas City police reported a total of 245 accidents but no serious injuries. Area hospitals and medical centers reported over 100 injuries from pedestrians falling on slick walking surfaces.
