Overnight heavy rainfall resulted in scattered mudslides in the Mankato area along with widespread street and basement flooding. Highway 169 two miles north of Mankato closed due to mudslide. Widespread crop damage in rural areas...estimated at $6.4 million. Total damage to southern Nicollet and northern Blue Earth counties exceeding $20 million. Mankato received almost 6 inches with the heaviest occurring Sunday night. An observer in Belgrade township reported 9.5 inches over the weekend.
