A thunderstorm brought very heavy localized rainfall to the west side of the city of Worcester. One street was flooded with water up to 4 to 5 feet deep and a small car was set afloat. Other automobiles were submerged by street flooding and numerous manhole covers were reported blown off. Rainfall amounts varied greatly and only 1.48 inches was recorded at Worcester Municipal Airport.
