Damaging Wind in Maryland, November 8, 1996
An apparent microburst developed to the rear of a powerful mesocyclone (which produced funnel clouds but no reported tornadoes), causing damage to one home in La Plata. The home, located on a hilltop, sustained minor damage to siding, shingles, eaves, and insulation.

An apparent microburst developed to the rear of a powerful mesocyclone (which produced funnel clouds but no reported tornadoes), causing damage to one home in La Plata. The home, located on a hilltop, sustained minor damage to siding, shingles, eaves, and insulation. Two large tree limbs were also down on the property. No other damage was reported.
