A complex of severe thunderstorms developed northwest of Phillipsburg and tracked southeast. A large area received large hail that was driven by winds of 60 to 80 mph. Most wheat fields in the storms path were mowed to the ground as were the leaves from trees across parts of Phillips, Smith, Osborne and Mitchell Counties. 5 head of cattle were killed in Osborne County. The vinal siding on a house near Downs was striped off by the hail and wind. Tree damage was reported in Rooks County.
