Thunderstorms developed over southwest Iowa. The storms were off the north edge of a very large mesoscale convective system located to the south of the state. The storms produced high winds over several counties. A roof was blown off a school building in New Market. Power lines were also taken down by the high winds. There were several reports of winds around 60 MPH.
