The Mississippi River remained above flood stage from late April well into June. At Thebes, the river crested at 39.5 feet on June 4, and fell below flood stage on June 20. Flood stage at Thebes is 33 feet. A few homes that were evacuated in May remained vacant. Agricultural bottomland and roads closest to the river remained flooded.
