Downburst winds from a thunderstorm caused significant damage to several brick and wood homes, numerous mobile homes and several screen enclosures along the north shore of the Alafia River near U.S. Highway 41 in Riverview. Also, several trees and power lines were downed by the downburst winds.A small boat was picked up by the downburst and airlifted to the opposite side of a canal along Oak Street where it landed in a resident's yard and damaged a parked vehicle.
