A squall line of severe thunderstorms tore down tree limbs and power lines in Northeast Cecil and adjoining New Castle County. Delmarva Power and Light reported about 4,000 homes lost power and all but 150 were restored by the next morning.

A squall line of severe thunderstorms tore down tree limbs and power lines in Northeast Cecil and adjoining New Castle County. Delmarva Power and Light reported about 4,000 homes lost power and all but 150 were restored by the next morning. Around the City of Wilmington four trees were uprooted in Riverview Cemetery, part of a roof was blown off of a hardward store. A plate glass window was blown out, part of the roof was peeled away from another store and the debris damaged three autos. In Edgemoor, numerous trees were knocked down and damaged two cars. Electrical wires were also ripped down and a roof was torn from a house in the Gordon Heights area.
