Severe thunderstorms brought damaging winds to the central and southeast portion of Hartford County. Several funnel clouds were sighted...the public reported a funnel cloud in Newington, while a SKYWARN observer reported a funnel cloud in New Britain. Wind gusts to 60 mph were reported from East Hartford and Glastonbury and a gust to 65 mph from Wethersfield. A gust to 56 mph was reported from Burlington. A spotter reported that five trees, 12 to 18 inches in diameter, were blown down in Burlington. Numerous trees were downed in Farmington and Glastonbury. In West Hartford, a tree fell on a house, forcing four people out into heavy rain. In other communities, tree limbs fell onto houses, causing only minor damage. Trees also were reported blown down in West Hartford. Over one inch of rain fell in 15 minutes in Farmington.
