A line of slow moving severe thunderstorms moved east from the Lower Hudson Valley of NY over Southwest Connecticut. These storms formed in a moist unstable airmass ahead of an approaching cold front.These storms produced high winds that knocked down numerous trees in the towns of Danbury, Newtown, and Oxford.
