Damaging Wind in Colorado, July 28, 1996
Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain developed over northern Larimer and Weld Counties during the late afternoon. The storms spread southward affecting Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Elbert, northern Jefferson and Lincoln Counties into the evening hours and spawned several weak tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorms producing damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain developed over northern Larimer and Weld Counties during the late afternoon. The storms spread southward affecting Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Elbert, northern Jefferson and Lincoln Counties into the evening hours and spawned several weak tornadoes. The twisters did little damage. Most of the damage to property and crops occurred from the large hail and strong winds associated with the storms. Damage estimates to property and crops however, were not available.
