Between one and three inches of rain fell in the Denver Metropolitan area during the late afternoon and early evening hours. As a result several low lying areas were flooded. Numerous power outages, false fire alarms and traffic accidents were reported. In Lakewood, phone service to 60,000 residents was knocked out when a switching center was flooded.
