On the eve of Memorial Day weekend, a winter type storm produced hail in the northern half of San Diego county. The only place that reported large hail was the city of Fallbrook. A spotter from the California Fire Department reported heavy rain and one inch diameter hail. 1.84 inches of precipitaion feel in Fallbrook. Other areas in the San Diego reported hail but mostly in the one quater to one half size range. Isolated flooding and some traffic accidents resulted. About 20,000 electric customers lost power at different times on this Friday. Also, snow flurries were reported in the mountians above 4000 feet.
