Downed power lines, broken and uprooted trees, roof shingles and mangled metal awnings were scattered in yards and streets throughout the city. A block fence blew down at Peoria Westbrook Village. High winds sent a tree sailing through the front of Pioneer Elementary School, 6315 W. Port au Prince Lane. The winds twisted a street sign in the opposite direction at the corner of 83rd Avenue and Washington Street.
