A frontal low developed 150 miles south of Kodiak early Sunday...then began to weaken 180 miles southeast of Kodiak Monday afternoon. The low reached an intensity of 960 mbs late Sunday. Wind gusts at Middleton Island reached 40 mph or more in advance of the front Monday. Behind the low, cold air poured across much of the adjacent mainland coast and Alaska Peninsula. Gusts reached 48 mph at Cold Bay on Monday...staying above 40 mph through Thursday.
