A tornado was reported near Gladstone area around 1700 local time. One person saw the funnel. Electric company confirmed some trees and power lines down.

Thunderstorms during the late afternoon and early evening hours on the 9th produced damaging lightning and wind. Thunderstorm winds downed trees 12 miles northwest of Danville and two miles northeast of Keysville. Lightning started a fire which destroyed a small shed in Appomattox.
