Severe storm developed over West Texas along and ahead of the dryline. There were numerous reports of dime to golf ball-size hail with these storms, though no significant damages were reported. Two brief tornadoes were reported. The first (technically a landspout) occurred near Lubbock's southern city limits at 1351CST. It damaged several signs and a shed. It was seen by thousands of citizens in Lubbock, and was well seen on "skycam" cameras operated by two local TV stations on their towers. The other was reported by an off-duty NWS employee in extreme southern King County. It occurred on ranchland and caused no damage.
