Isolated severe thunderstorms developed in Northeast Pennsylvania ahead of a strong cold front. Thunderstorm winds downed large trees onto houses in Scranton. In Lackawaxen, a three-foot diameter tree fell onto the Zane Grey House and Museum. The tree cracked the main support beam and heavily damaged several gables. Other trees in the area were uprooted or severely damaged.
