Very strong winds destroyed two mobile homes and damaged several others. Thirty people had to be evacuated, but no injuries were reported. A commercial building had a wall blown down.

Thunderstorms during the evening hours on the 25th produced damaging lightning and wind. Thunderstorm winds knocked a tree onto a vehicle and downed other trees in Bottom. A woman in the vehicle received minor injuries. Thunderstorm winds also downed trees and power lines in Dobson, blew a mobile home across a road five miles east-southeast of Low Gap and downed several trees, tore shingles off a house and peeled back tin roofing in Low Gap. Thunderstorm winds downed trees in Wilkesboro and six miles west-southwest of Wilkesboro, knocked a tree onto a truck and a garage four miles west-southwest of Wilkesboro and damaged a roof and downed trees and power lines in North Wilkesboro. Lightning started a fire which destroyed a mobile home in Boonville.
