A series of severe thunderstorms tracked across the Midland, Bay City, Saginaw area as a weak warm frontal boundary interacted with extremely humid air. Dew points were in the low to mid 70s across southern lower Michigan during the event. Most of the damage involved trees and powerlines being blown down. A lightning strike in Cass City in Tuscola county ignited a fire with caused an estimated $250 thousand dollars of damage to the Walboro Corporation Aftermarket Division building.

Trees and powerlines were blown down. In Adrian, 4,400 customers were without power after the storm. Lightning ignited a fire that damaged the roof of an apartment building in Adrian. A spotter reported large amounts of corn crop damage. The roof was blown off of a silo in Blissfield.
