A weak tornado touched down briefly in a field south of Plainfield near Caton Farm Road and Route 59. It dissipated as it moved toward a housing subdivision. Winds estimated at around 50 mph knocked over lawn chairs, bent a basketball goal, and knocked loose shutters and a brick facade from a house.
