A tornado traveled easterly 5 miles across Grant county from 1 mile northeast of Patch Grove to 1 mile south of Mt. Hope. The tornado ripped a roof from a large hay barn, threw over a grain elevator, damaged several homes and leveled numerous trees and power lines. A severe thunderstorm dropped golfball hail and developed intense winds which downed power lines just west of Dodgeville (Iowa county).
