A severe thunderstorm moving eastward across the county produced golf ball-sized hail, followed very quickly by a small and short-lived tornado. No one was injured and no significant damage was done by the tornado.

Thunderstorm winds estimated at 45 to 50 mph near George West by a sheriff's deputy rolled a tractor-semitrailer over. Winds knocked down power lines in the town of George West, resulting in an extended power loss. Roof damage was also reported in George West.
A tornado touched down just southwest of the Beeville airport, destroying a large hangar. The tornado also destroyed five mobile homes near the airport, then lifted and dissipated. Power was reported out in the area as well.
Several large trees were uprooted just east of Seadrift by strong winds from a thunderstorm. Residents in and near Seadrift reported large limbs knocked off trees as well.
