Thunderstorms in northern Idaho produced strong winds and frequent lightning that caused minor damage and several power outages. An observer for the weather service at Grangeville, 55 miles southeast of Lewiston, recorded a wind gust of 68 mph. The only damage reported from this was a tree limb falling on the corner of a nearby house. Lightning caused a power outage in Grangeville. Other communities with lightning caused power outages were Cottonwood, Kamiah, Kooskia, and Stites, all within 20 miles north of Grangeville.
