November 24, 847 (AH 233 Rabi-II,II): Damascus was shaken by a very strong earthquake. The El-Aamer mosque was destroyed together with its minarets. Many houses, barrages and irrigation ditches were destroyed. The damage extended to Darayya, El-Mazar, Beit-Liqya and El-Sowth. (reference #1098)
