50 A.D. A destructive earthquake in north-central Afghanistan destroyed the city of Aikhanum on the east bank of the Oms and the north bank of the Kokcha rivers. (reference #1101)
50 B.C.-AD 50. Aikhanum. Archaeological evidence in north-central Afghanistan shows that the temple of the Greco-Bactrian city, known as Aikhanum, was destroyed by an earthquake after the city had been abandoned, sometime between 50 B.C. and AD 50. The site is situated on the east bank of the River Oxus and the north bank of the River Kokcha. (reference #9116)
