1992, Aug 19. An estimated 75 people killed, including 14 killed by landslides in Taluk. Several villages, including Toluk, were destroyed (IX) in the Susamyrtau Mountains and at least 8,200 dwellings were destroyed. Felt (VII) at

Andizhan, Chimion and Namangan, Uzbekistan. Structural

damage (VI) occurred to bui Idings at Bishkek,

Kyrgyzstan. Felt (VI) at Angren, Fergana and Tashkent,

Uzbekistan and at Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Also felt (VI) at

Alma-Ata, Kazakhstan; (V) at Samar kana and Yangiyul,

Uzbekistan and Khodzhent, Tajikistan; (IV) at Dushanbe,

Kulyab, Nurek and Pendzhikent, Tajikistan and Naryn,

Kyrgyzstan; (III) at Cholpon-Ata and Przhevalsk,

Kyrgyzstan. Elevation changes of up to 4 meters observed in the Susamyr Valley. Liquefaction occurred in the epicentral area. (reference #1053)
