Pereiro - tremors preceded by rumbling as if it were thunder; objects shook; pots rattled and fell off the stove; whole house shook; caused cracks, small and large, in 40% of the buildings; walls cracked from top to bottom; walls warped; plaster fell from houses and the church; roof beams pulled apart; roof tiles slipped; several breaches in the walls of the gymnasium; hundreds of people ran into the streets screaming; more than 1000 people left the town
