This earthquake located south of the March 7 shock in Mus Province of eastern Turkey. The town of Bagici, which was almost destroyed, reported 12 deaths and 15 injuries. Surrounding villages also sustained extensive property damage. (reference #45)
July 12, 1966, 00:04 UTC, 38.9 41.3 E, depth 64 km, magnitude 4.6 Ms. A further destructive shock occurred on 12 July, causing 12 deaths and 20 injured at Tepekoy and Carbuhur; a fracture approximately 1 kilometre in length was formed, cutting the River Carbuhur. (reference #1039)
