During 1950 I noted seventy earth tremors of varying degrees, increasing in intensity until the major one of 8th November 1950, whose aftershocks were experienced in the ensuing two days, and after which to the end of 1952 no tremors were noted at Honiara, apart from one or two very slight ones which were felt by the occasional observer only. (reference #3481)
