July 1764. Montessus (1888) interprets the description of Ordinarie (-) on the destruction of 108 houses in the port of Trujillo, as due to an earthquake. If this interpretation is correct, it could be an event similar to the earthquake of August 4, 1856. Sutch (1981) assigns Intensity MM VIII and associates the epicentral region on the edge of the Caribbean plate, in Honduras. (reference #124)
