Webcams and satellite imagery show formation of widespread fog
across the eastern and central UP this morning. Locally dense fog
could reduce visibility to less than 1/4 miles at times. Drivers
should exercise extra caution this morning and use low-beam
headlights when in the fog. Fog should lift shortly after sunrise.
In the past year the National Weather Service issued 119 alerts for Alger County, including 11 winter storm warnings, 9 severe thunderstorm warnings, 3 blizzard warnings and 3 tornado warnings.
