...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI AND OAHU TONIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY... ...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST AND SOUTHEAST FACING SHORES OF MOLOKAI MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND IN EFFECT THROUGH SUNDAY... .Hurricane Nolo inches north toward the Big Island then turns west while remaining well south of the Hawaiian Islands. Nolo is producing a moderate swell that is causing building surf along east and southeast facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, and Molokai. Strengthening trades then cause building surf along east facing shorelines beginning tonight and continuing through Sunday. * WHAT...Large breaking waves 8 to 12 feet. * WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai and Oahu. * WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 6 PM HST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Moderate to High. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous. Expect very strong breaking waves and powerful currents.
