Showers continue over southeast Montana and northern Wyoming today. A few thunderstorms may develop as well. The risk of flooding continues. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with flash flooding over recent burn scars. * WHERE...Southeast Montana and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Until 6 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. The risk of flooding will diminish late this afternoon and evening as showers taper off. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The heaviest rainfall is slowly shifting eastward to southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming. - The Elk and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to flash flooding and debris flows. Any other burn scars from this summer will have elevated flash flood potential as well. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
