Showers are turning light and tapering off along the western foothills, but healthier showers will continue over central and eastern portions of the forecast area today. The risk of flooding continues. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible, along with flash flooding over recent burn scars. * WHERE...Southeast Montana and Sheridan County Wyoming. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of creeks and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. The risk of flooding will diminish late this afternoon and evening as showers taper off. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The heaviest rainfall is slowly shifting eastward to southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming. - The Elk and McGhee-Remington burn scars are particularly vulnerable to flash flooding and debris flows. Any other burn scars from this summer will have elevated flash flood potential as well. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of northeast Montana, including the following counties, Dawson, Garfield, Petroleum, Prairie and Wibaux. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rain is expected today on saturated ground along and south of MT 200 between Winnett, Jordan and Glendive and south of I 94 between Glendive and Wibaux. Heavy rain is possible in any embedded thunderstorms that may occur. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
