...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 715 PM MST THIS
EVENING FOR NORTHERN MOHAVE COUNTY...

At 606 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
         flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban
         areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Colorado City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

The heavy rain has ended. A Flood Advisory remains in effect until
8:00 PM MST this evening. Minor flooding and ponding of water on
roads and in low-water crossings. Please continue to heed remaining
road closures.

.KEY MESSAGES...

* Isolated to scattered storms continue for the next several days
  with greatest coverage north and east of Las Vegas.

* Near-normal high temperatures persist with warm overnight lows
  thanks to monsoon moisture.

.DISCUSSION...through Wednesday.

Looks like a rinse-and-repeat forecast over the next several days in
terms of monsoon convection. Moisture stays in place with PWATs
staying in the 1.25"-1.60" range, which is supportive of
showers/storms each day. However, as is often the case in the
monsoon, it is best to take a day-by-day approach as lingering
morning convection and cloud debris can suppress the afternoon
environment in spots. Generally speaking, the favored initiation
points will be the mountains/plateaus of southeastern NV,
northwestern AZ, and eastern San Bernardino County as this is where
the best overlap of moisture and orographic lift exists. During the
late afternoon and evening, storms may move into the valleys, but
this is far from a guarantee in places like Las Vegas and the lower
Colorado River Valley. Main thunderstorm hazards will be flash
flooding and strong outflow winds, which can travel far from their
parent storm.

On the temperature side, expecting highs to remain with ~5 degrees
of climatology throughout the forecast period. Those lucky enough to
get precipitation in the early afternoon will likely end up below
normal, while places farther west are expected remain near or
slightly above normal thanks to less cloud/precipitation coverage.
On the other hand, all of this moisture and convective cloud debris
will tend to keep overnight lows on the warm side with values 5-12
degrees above normal. On top of that, it'll feel rather muggy for
Desert Southwest standards. HeatRisk largely remains in the Moderate
Category (level 2 of 4).

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Low
confidence TAF forecast. Currently watching storm activity over
northwestern Arizona, which have the potential to produce gusty
outflow winds that may reach southern Nevada and trigger additional
thunderstorm activity into the evening. Most likely timeframe for
storm activity reaching the terminal is 03Z to 07Z, followed by some
potential for weaker showers in the early morning hours. Outside of
storms, gusty southerly to southeasterly winds prevail through the
night. For tomorrow, gusty southeasterly winds should shift to the
southwest in the afternoon, at which point there is more low
confidence potential for showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures
exceed 100 degrees through 03Z tonight, then again between 23Z and
00Z tomorrow.

For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast
California...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Convection over
northwestern Arizona has the potential to produce gusty outflow
winds and additional storm formation in southern Nevada and along
the Colorado River Valley. Confidence is low, but the most likely
time for storms impacting the Las Vegas Valley terminals is between
03Z and 07Z, and between 07Z and 12Z in the Colorado River
Valley. Outside of storms, gusty southerly winds continue into the
night. Confidence is also low in tomorrow's storm activity, but
there is potential for activity in the Las Vegas Valley tomorrow
afternoon, as well as much of northwestern Arizona.
