.SYNOPSIS...
High temperatures will be a few degrees warmer today and again on
Friday with coastal low clouds not spreading as far into the
valleys for early Friday and early Saturday. It will be cooler
for inland areas for the weekend with southwest to west winds for
the mountains and deserts for Saturday through Sunday morning
gusting to 40 to 50 mph. Inland areas may begin to warm for the
middle and latter part of next week.

.SHORT TERM (Today through Saturday)...
High temperatures will be a few degrees warmer today and again on
Friday with Friday high temperatures a few degrees below average
for the coast and valleys and 5 to 10 degrees above average for
the deserts. High temperatures on Friday will range from the mid
to upper 60s near the coast to the mid 70s to lower 80s for the
Inland Empire with the lower deserts around 100. Onshore flow
will strengthen for Saturday and Sunday with cooling for inland
areas. There will be gusty southwest to west winds for the
mountains and deserts for Saturday through Sunday morning with
gusts to 40 to 50 mph with isolated stronger gusts.

The marine layer is still around 2500 to 3000 feet deep.
Satellite imagery at 2 AM shows widespread low clouds over the
coastal waters extending inland across the coast and valleys of
central and southern San Diego County. Through sunrise, the low
clouds should expand northward into Orange County and portions of
the Inland Empire. The marine layer will become shallower for
Friday and Saturday with night and morning coastal low clouds
extending inland into the western valleys.

.LONG TERM (Sunday through Wednesday)...
Sunday high temperatures will be near average for the deserts and
a few to around 5 degrees below average elsewhere. Sunday high
temperatures will range from the mid to upper 60s near the coast
to the mid 70s to lower 80s for the Inland Empire with the lower
deserts in the lower to mid 90s. The marine layer will deepen for
Saturday night into Sunday morning with coastal low clouds
extending farther inland into portions of the inland valleys.

NBM high temperatures for early next week, at least for the coast
and valleys, appear to be much too warm, in some locations by more
than 5 degrees. For the middle and latter part of next week, there
should be at least some inland warming as low pressure across the
southwest states weakens.

.AVIATION...
141700Z...Coast/Valleys...Low clouds are currently clearing toward
the coastline with SKC expected for all land areas after 19z. Low
clouds based 1500-2000 ft MSL return to San Diego County coastal
areas 00-03z Fri and slowly spread north filling most of the coastal
basin overnight. 60-70% chance for cigs to reach KONT and 50-60% at
KSBD. Low clouds clear to the coast again 16-19z Fri.

Mountains/Deserts...Westerly wind gusts 25-40 kt increasing again
after 21Z. MOD up/downdrafts and local LLWS in lee of mountains.
Winds slowly weaken tonight into Friday morning. Otherwise, SKC
expected through the period.

.MARINE...
No hazardous marine conditions are expected through Saturday
morning. Winds are expected to reach 20-30 kts over outer coastal
waters from late Saturday into early Sunday. Strongest gusts near
San Clemente Island. This will generate hazardous conditions for
small craft with choppy seas reaching 8-11 feet through Sunday
morning.
