* WINDS...Northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise 
  extreme caution with any outdoor burning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...

Today...

It is going to be windy to very windy today across the region.
Although it is going to be quite windy, Red Flag conditions will
only be (technically) marginal today due to the expected
(relatively) high RH values. Several areas will see RH values
in the 15 to 20%, but quite a few areas will be see min RH
values above 20% today. The area which may see min RH reach
critical values will be in the Pueblo region. Needless to say,
give the strong winds of 20 to 40 mph (in the Red Flag Warning
Area) it is better to have the highlight in effect given the
strength of the winds this afternoon.

Further west into the higher terrain, winds will be in the 40 to 60
mph range with some gusts to 70, especially in the Monarch Pass
region and northern Sangres.

It will continue to snow throughout the day across the central
mountains. Latest guidance increased the amounts and we may see some
total approach a foot in places north of Cottonwood pass.

Later this evening as the forcing moves over the plains, we may see
some rain showers north of US50, with the best chance over the
Palmer Divide (N El Paso County).

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...

Thursday will cool down a bit but temps will still be well
above normal. It will still be on the windy/breezy side but not
as windy as today. Best chance of red flag conditions will be
over and just to the west of the I-25 corridor region. A fire
weather watch is in effect for part of the region Thursday

Friday, Saturday and Sunday...

warm region-wide with Critical fire weather conditions possible
along and just east of the mountains/plains interface.

Monday into next week...

Desi still showing a wide variability in max temps these days as the
longer range guidance continues to struggle on how far west the
Canadian air mass will push westward. Overall there is bit of  a
cooling trend and precip chances due increase somewhat as the
deterministic guidance shows troughieness trying to develop over the
western CONUS, and if this does occur, we may see a better chane
of precip over the region, especially over the higher terrain.

VFR conditions at all three terminals (KALS, KCOS, KPUB)
through the next 24 hours with passing mid and high clouds.
Winds will be gusty at all sites this afternoon, with the
strongest winds expected at KCOS and KPUB where gusts will
likely exceed 40 kts. Winds will subside and turn more northerly
behind a cold front this evening.

This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Wind driven snow will occur over the central mountains today into
this evening. Storm total snowfall of 4 to 8 inches can be
expected with possibly some 12 inch amounts north of Cottonwood
pass.

Red Flag conditions will be possible today generally along the
greater I-25 corridor region. Although it will be very windy today,
Humidity values are only expected to be at marginally critical
values. Please to not do anything outside today which could cause a
spark.

It will be windy all areas today. The strongest winds will occur in
the mountains, especially across the central mountains and northern
Sangre De Cristo mountains. Gusts up to 70 mph will be possible.
Over the plains, winds of 20 to 40 mph with some gusts to 50 mph
will be widespread today. The lightest winds today will be over the
far eastern plains.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Critical fire weather conditions will be possible Thursday, Friday,
Saturday and Sunday over parts of the region. The best chance for
critical fire weather conditions will be along the greater I-25
corridor region.

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be likely over portions of the region.
