...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM CDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN CHOCTAW COUNTY...

At 318 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles northeast of
Butler, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Butler and Pennington.

The severe thunderstorm which prompted the warning has weakened.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, small 
hail and gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

 - Scattered to locally numerous showers and storms are expected
   to develop each day starting today and lasting through
   Saturday. Storms on Tuesday and Wednesday could potentially
   become strong to severe.

 - Well above average temperatures will continue through
   Wednesday, gradually cooling by the end of the week.

 - Strong winds return this weekend to area waters, creating
   hazardous conditions for small craft.

An active weather pattern begins on Tuesday as the upper ridge
breaks down as an upper trough moves across the Ohio Valley. An
associated trailing cold front will move south and stall well
north of the area. Shortwaves moving along this boundary will
bring chances for showers and thunderstorms to portions of the
area, mainly north of the highway 84, through Wednesday. Several
clusters of thunderstorms will be possible through the period with
the first one likely weakening as it moves into the area later
this morning. Another MCS is expected to develop across Arkansas
late this afternoon and move southeast into the area this
evening. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats
with the stronger storms. The front moves into the area on
Wednesday and with weak difluence aloft along with disturbances
moving along the boundary, showers and storms will increase in
coverage Wednesday afternoon and evening. A few strong storms
cannot be ruled out with hail and gusty winds. A large spread in
guidance remains for the late week system as the next system
approaches in the zonal flow aloft. In response to the approaching
wave, a sfc low is expected to develop. However, there remains
differences on whether the low will move inland or move south of
the area. For now, will show increasing rain chances Friday into
Saturday. Cooler temps follow this system for early next week. /13

VFR to locally MVFR conditions are expected for most of the area
through the afternoon. However, a few strong to severe thunderstorms
may impact operations over northern portions of the area as early as
mid-afternoon, with the main round of storms expected during the
evening hours. Storms will be capable of producing large hail and
wind gusts in excess of 50 knots. MVFR ceilings will likely set in
after dark with IFR to locally LIFR conditions possible during the
predawn hours. Conditions should improve to MVFR or greater by mid-
morning on Wednesday. Prevailing winds should be generally southerly
around 5-15 kts, but may become variable at times due to the
influence of storms over northern areas. JGC/BB-8

Light to occasionally moderate onshore flow will become
more variable, then temporarily offshore late Wednesday into
Thursday as a cold front sags south over area coastal waters and
stalls. Winds shift to easterly, then return to onshore by Friday
night ahead of another cold front approaching the northern Gulf
coast. This front will cross area waters Saturday, bringing moderate
to strong offshore flow follows for the rest of the weekend, with a
Small Craft Advisory likely.

Pine Hill, or 9 miles northeast of Thomasville, moving east at 25
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.
