Issued at 249 AM CDT Thu Aug 6 2026 To begin the period, a strong ridge of high pressure out west continues to expand eastward. This will continue to bring mild and dry conditions to the state. With that said, we will see a slight pattern change Friday and Saturday as NW flow aloft brings increased rain chances. As the pattern breaks down, the ridge out west will slowly expand back keeping Arkansas in eastern side of the ridge early in the week before completely dominating the pattern by late in the week. This will slowly increase temperatures and humidity across the state through the rest of the workweek. Heat headlines will likely be needed by Friday and Saturday afternoons. Additionally, PoP chances increases as we get to Friday and Saturday as NW flow settles over the region. Severe thunderstorms are not expected at this time. && .AVIATION...
