.AVIATION UPDATE...

VFR conditions will be the main flight category over all
terminals for the next 12 hours or so. ISOLD -TSRA continue at
roughly twenty to thirty percent probability for all sites and so
will continue with PROB30 for most terminals this afternoon.
Breezy to locally windy conditions will develop over central
Nevada with KTPH and KELY terminals seeing S15-25 kts with gusts
to 35 kts during the afternoon. After 00Z this evening, conditions
will degrade to MVFR/IFR as -SHRA moves into the area as an
incoming storm system continues to affect the region.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW: A series of ongoing storms by a pair of
low pressure systems is expected to bring in periods of
 and chances of thunderstorms this afternoon lasting through
Monday with strong southerly winds over central Nevada Friday and
Saturday afternoons.

The first of two low pressure systems will bring in chances for
precipitation across northern Nevada and parts of the western
portions of the US-50 corridor this afternoon. Snow levels remain
around 8000 feet through Friday, leaving the precipitation to
fall as rain. Overnight into early Friday morning, the front
pushes further into Nevada, increasing chances for more
precipitation as well as some isolated thunderstorms across
northern Nevada and extending into parts of central Nevada
towards northwestern Nye County. Northeastern Nye and White Pine
County are expected to not receive much precipitation with
chances below 20% as the front slowly moves eastward, however they
will see strong gusty southerly winds up to 20-25 mph with gusts
as high as 40-45 mph. Warmer than normal temperatures will keep
snow levels above 8000 feet throughout the day as high
temperatures stay in the 70s, but overnight cooler temperatures
begin to move in, dropping snow levels around 7000 feet with
Humboldt County dropping to 6500 feet, making way for more
prevalent mountain snow.

Friday night into Saturday, the second more defined low pressure
system will move over the western CONUS, absorbing the first
system with increasing chances for precipitation and mountain
snow across northern and central Nevada as well as additional
chances for some isolated thunderstorms. Northeastern Nye and
White Pine counties will start dry with strong gusty southerly
winds picking up again in the afternoon with speeds up to 15-25
mph, gusts as high as 40 mph. By late afternoon, the front is
expected to push further east, bringing in rain and mountain snow
to the areas. Snow levels are expected to stay within 7000-8000
feet (6500 for Humboldt County) throughout the day as high
temperatures expected to be slightly above normal in the 60s,
until the overnight hours as colder air moves further into Nevada,
dropping snow levels below 6000 feet by Sunday morning. High
temperatures Sunday are expected to be in the 40s to 50s. Chances
for precipitation will continue through Sunday and into Monday
morning with cooler overnight temperatures making snow levels drop
to around 5000 feet, transitioning valley rain into snow. By
Monday, the low pressure system will have pushed east of Nevada
with some lingering chances for more precipitation by the
afternoon.

Tuesday through Thursday, in the models have some outputs showing
an upper ridge strengthening over the western CONUS with other
models showing a weak to near zonal trough. The main consensus
that the models agree on is a warming trend through the weekend
with highs reaching back into the 60s.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS: High confidence for unseasonably
warm temperatures through Friday. Moderate confidence for
precipitation activity this afternoon with higher confidence on
Friday through Monday. Moderate confidence for isolated
thunderstorms Friday and Saturday afternoons. High confidence for
strong gusty southerly winds over Northeastern Nye and White Pine
counties Friday and Saturday afternoon. High confidence for cooler
temperatures over the weekend. Moderate confidence of snow
reaching the valleys by Monday morning. High confidence of warmer
temperatures next week.

.AVIATION...

Look for VFR conditions over all terminals for the next 24 hour
period. Chances for weather this afternoon over the northern
terminals as a low pressure system moves over Nevada that will
bring VCSH conditions. PROB30 was added to the grids for KWMC,
KEKO, and KBAM as chances for -TSRA possible this evening. Some
breezy southerly winds over KTPH and KELY with speeds up to 10-15
kts, gusts as high as 20-25 kts.
